BAKED SPINACH

  • 1)For preparing baked spinach, cut the stems of the spinach and chop the leaves and squeeze the moisture out.
  • 2)Melt butter in a dish and toss in the spinach leaves.
  • 3)Prepare a white sauce by melting butter in another pan. Add in maida, grated cheese, milk, salt and pepper, stirring all along for 2-3 minutes on low flame.
  • 4)Pour the white sauce over the spinach and stir well.
  • 5)Season with salt, pepper, red pepper, mace and nutmeg.
  • 6)Transfer the spinach mixture into a greased dish.
  • 7)Beat eggs and pour it evenly over the spinach.
  • 8)Put tomato wedges on the sides and bake it at 180 degrees celsius(350 degrees F) for 15 minutes in the oven.
  • 9)Baked spinach is ready.
